Revelation
Or: The Apocalypse Comes to Mama Ruby’s Restaurant
A new play about the horror and hope of being American
Ithaca College - May 2026
theSpaceUK @ Edinburgh Festival Fringe - August 2026
The four horsemen gather at Mama Ruby’s Restaurant in Nowhere, North Carolina for their annual apocalypse conference, convinced that this is the year that the world will finally crash and burn. Unfortunately for them, humanity seems to have other plans. Created by an ensemble of students from Ithaca College, this world premiere explores humanity’s stubborn dedication to doing good even when the forces (or the horses) that be are trying as hard as they can to make it impossible. Will civilization finally crumble, or will the horsemen's plans be halted by the power of human connection?
“One of the key themes of this show is forgiveness”
“There is a reason I put the horsemen on stage - who are the embodiment of evil - and set the play in Southern Baptist North Carolina, a place most of our audience isn’t from and don’t align with morally. I wanted to tell a story that reminds us to love each other, in spite of the end of the world, or perhaps because of it.”
